Best congratulations to this issue's Cover Boy, the incredibly talented, brilliant, kind and charming COLIN FIRTH for his well deserved awards and Hollywood Star. It's great to see a much loved Brit actor setting 'Hahley Wooooooooooooood' on fire!
COLIN FIRTH plays THE KING. c.r. MOMENTUM PICTURES.
The Film Awards season was very exciting this year with THE KING'S SPEECH, THE SOCIAL NETWORK, INCEPTION and BLACK SWAN being my special faves. As a BAFTA voter I see as many films as I can and I can also recommend TRUE GRIT, 127 HOURS and THE FIGHTER for the boys and, on the unusual side, OF GODS AND MEN and THE DISAPPEARANCE OF ALICE CREED.
The ORANGE BAFTA FILM AWARDS was a stunningly fashionable affair this year in spite of good old Brit rain! I took JADE for the first time and here we are, wearing gorg evening frockettes by NICOLE BAKTI and SELINA, jewellery by LOVE AND LILLY and PARVEEN and bags by BAGS OF DREAMS of course.
SALLY and JADE at BAFTAS 2011.
Look out for Awards gowns in our next issue, fashionistas!
The next BAFTA Awards will be the TV ones and this is my excuse for adopting my latest Guilty Secret = daytime TV! Most particularly I have fallen in love with TWO AND A HALF MEN, which I got into while staying with my dear friend ADELE BLOOM at her lovely cottage in the country. I just had to find out why CHARLIE SHEEN is, at an alleged $2 mil per show, the highest paid TV actor in the world (even higher than our very own HUGH LAURIE who also gets a well deserved packet for HOUSE - allegedly!) Well now I know. He's absolutely superb, as are all the actors in the show and the scripts are wicked.
I read in the paper (so it MUST be true, haha!) that the producers of TWO AND A HALF MEN wanted their golden boy to go into rehab because of his habits of heavy drinking and canoodling with porn stars. Obviously CHARLIE is a method actor and takes his work vereeeeeeeee seriously..............
The new season's on now, CHARLIE fans.
I am a bit of a method actor myself but, since returning to the stage after my daughter left school last year, I have not had to stretch myself in quite the same way as MR SHEEN. However all that's about to change as I will be playing ODILE, a bitter and angry failed nun in THE DEAL by HELENE PASCAL at THE INTERCHANGE THEATRE (020 7692 5800) from March 7th. Book up early to see me with a prosthetic nose, painted on wrinkles, no make up and 'big hair' completely covered - and no, it's not a comedy, defo a drama - - dead meaty.

OBITUARY:
On a tragic note the world has lost one of the nicest and most talented Brit film stars of her generation, the beautiful inside and out SUSANNAH YORK who passed away from bone cancer in January after refusing chemo and courageously working up until the very end.
SUSANNAH's incredible talent and luminous beauty will live on forever through her film roles. Who could ever forget her in such classics as TOM JONES and THE KILLING OF SISTER GEORGE, not to mention as CHRISTOPHER REEVES' mum in SUPERMAN 3?
The last 2 times I saw SUSANNAH, at the respective plays we were in at THE LEICESTER SQUARE THEATRE, THE MIRACLE and WHEN THE LILAC BLOOMS, MY LOVE, she seemed very frail but as fun and outgoing as ever. I first met her 25 years ago through her dear friend, theatrical agent RICHARD JACKSON and she was one of my first interviewees when I started my presenting career - she described herself as 'lively' then and that never changed - she was always lively and great fun, as well as very kind and sweet natured.
SUSANNAH's funeral at Mortlake was a fitting send off for the popular and loved actress, with a completely 'full house'. Her 'basket' coffin was bedecked with flowers, her handsome son ORLANDO gave an inspirational address all about SUSANNAH's full life and there were many splendid readings. Thesps attending the moving service included MIRIAM MARGOLYES, PETER STRAKER and TIM WOODWARD who starred opposite SUSANNAH in THE MIRACLE.
Heartfelt condolences to ORLANDO, SUSANNAH's daughter SASHA and all her family.
SUSANNAH's family, friends and fans all over the world mourn a wonderful actress and delightful lady.
My photo shows SUSANNAH with me at the first night party for LILACS at FLEMINGS.

On a happy note, thank you for all your emails about my HOT GOSSIP Shop of the Year 2010, the amazing PARVEEN COUTURE, 48 Dorset Street, W.1. / 020 7 486 84 80 / www.parveencouture.com
PARVEEN's latest collection of lush evening gowns, cocktail frocks and day wear is to die for and the shop is currently also crammed full of stunning fashion jewellery, handbags and accessories - check it out now!
Apart from VEDRONICA CAMPBELL, MR AND MRS URI GELLER, WILNELIA FORSYTH and the late, great MICHAEL JACKSON, PARVEEN's other celeb clients include the beauteous HEATHER MILLS and here she is with PARVEEN at one of her recent speaking events. The ladies are of course sporting PARVEEN COUTURE.
PARVEEN and HEATHER MILLS.
And here's PARVEEN with JADE and moi at a recent show where we modelled her gorg outfits:
PARVEEN and SAL.
JADE.
Just around the corner from PARVEEN's in Chiltern Street is fab new hair and beauty salon, LETICIA HAUTE COIFFEUR, 'the West End's best new salon' - 020 7935 1770 / www.leticiahautecoiffeur.com
owned by the gorg LAETITIA TOMASSO where JADE is a house model.
I am delighted to report that the dynamic LAETITIA, who is herself a talented stylist, has now expanded next door so, with more space and staff, it will now be easier to book an appointment, hooray! She is also opening a luxury beauty treatment department in the new space.
To mark the occasion LAETITIA and her superb top stylist and LHC director, PIERRE threw a great party in the space, along with SINCURA (www.sincura.com) the luxury concierge service, where guests quaffed BY BERRY, the most delish French champagne which contains real gold in its bubbles but is reasonably priced (www.byberry.fr)
The party was attended by many of the West End glitterati including TV presenter JULIAN BENNETT and a good time was had by all.
LETICIA Salon Expansion party / LAETITIA AND PIERRE.
My RESTAURANT OF THE MONTH this issue is the new and exciting BISTRO K Restaurant and Lounge Bar at 117/119 Old Brompton Road, South Kensington, SW7 3RN / 020 7373 77 74 / www.bistro-k.co.uk
BISTRO K is the latest South Ken hot spot for celebs and the glitterati and is a great meeting place for drinks as well as lunch and dinner. It's run by the gorgeous SEVIM and the brilliant chef is ARMAND so there are lots of delish French dishes as well as Brit faves.
I went along for lunch with my daughter JADE, a skinny fashion model who eats like a horse, 'comme moi', as they say in proper French restaurants like BISTRO K and the delightful MATTHEW STEEPLES, P.R.O .for the divine VODKA O (www.aussiespirits.com) which has a starring role at all my theatrical and charity parties. SEVIM joined us and we tried everything! Thus I can highly recommend the Warm Rocamadour and Beetroot Salad, the Crab Tortellini and Shellfish Consomme. the Scottish Scallops with Cauliflower Puree and Pancetta and the Smoked 'Tsar' Salmon by JMA for starters and the Cep (White Truffle = best ever!) Risotto, Organic Salmon with Hollandaise and Puy Lentils, the Wild Sea Bass with Pommes Ecrasees and Lemon Beurre Blanc and the Scottish Beef Fillet with French Fries (nice and crispy) and Bearnaise for mains. We finished with the excellent French and English cheese board and delicately flavoured Raspberry Souffle and its Sorbet and washed the exquisite meal down with Duval champagne and 3 excellent wines. Wow - what a feast! And the lunch menu is only £15 a head for 3 courses - the perfect pit stop when shopping in High St Ken, South Ken or on your way to Harrods.
BISTRO K presently has an amazing photo exhibition, SHAKEN NOT STIRRED by world famous snapper JOHN STODDART hanging on its chicly decorated walls so you can admire the finely chiselled features of BOND actors DANIEL CRAIG and TIMOTHY DALTON and other legends while you eat.
Highly recommended.
You can also buy one of the best cookbooks I have ever come across at BISTRO K = COOKING WITH BALLS (NETWORK BOOK PUBLISHING). This interestingly named and beautifully photographed tome features fave recipes of great ball players cooked by famous chefs. For instance MARTIN CASTROGIOVANNI and GIORGIO LOCATELLI's recipe is for Veal with Parma Ham and Sage, Baked Aubergines and Girolles, DANNY HIPKISS and MICHEL ROUX JR's is for Souffle Suissesse and GRAHAM ROUNTREE and TOM AIKENS serve up 'food to eat after a match' (Hmmn!) The recipes are very easy to follow and I am already practising LAWRENCE DALLAGLIO and CLIVE DIXON's Spinach and Ricotta Gnudi with Crispy Lamb Breast for my big moment on CELEBRITY COME DINE WITH ME!
My other BEST BOOKS this month are:
SIN TROPEZ by AITA IGHODARO (CORVUS), a rollicking good romp about 3 frisky young gels and their friends and lovers in and out of one of the most entertaining resorts in the world, St Tropez. Well written and superior chick lit with plenty of witty banter as the heroines chase sex, drugs and rock n roll, not to mention that great god Mammon, in between sunbathing and shopping.
The perfect beach or long winter nights' read.
(I notice THE CHARLOTTE STREET HOTEL gets a mention in SIN TROPEZ - this is one of my faves, along with its sister, THE COVENT GARDEN HOTEL which is a brilliant lunch spot with delish food and charming staff.)
EXPRESS MAKEUP by RAE MORRIS with great photography by STEVEN CHEE (APPLE PRESS) is the perfect make-up book, whether you go for the natural look or the Full Monty Red Carpet look. It's well written and easy to understand with big, explanatory pix. From mineral make-up to luminisers to highlighters, plus how to make the best of your assets and minimise your flaws, it's all there in this light but glossy book. The instructions for applying false eyelashes and making the most of your brows are particualrly illuminating, excuse the pun!
My PERFUME OF THE MONTH, conveniently for this issue which includes Valentine's Day and Mother's, Day, is chic Parisian designer RACHEL ELBAZ's exotic DREAM DE RACHEL ELBAZ, a sensuous, provocative and unusual scent which makes both ladies and gentlemen ask what you are wearing = a true conversation piece. Concocted lovingly in Grasse on the Cote d'Azur like all the great fragrances, DREAM has notes of amber, patchouli and jasmine making it feminine, fun and sexy.
The stop press news on DREAM is that RACHEL has just brought out a Special Edition of the fragrance, packaged in a luxurious silk-lined box and hand painted with SWAROVSKI crystals = perfect for the discerning femme fatale's dressing table! There is even a pure crystal bottle for gents who want to truly wow their ladies in the present department.
But a picture tells a thousand words and conjures up the scent of DREAM much better than my writing, I am sure, so here's an image of the Special Edition of DREAM:
 RACHEL. DREAM. Special Edition.
If you pop in to RACHEL COUTURE, RACHEL's elegant shop on Knightsbridge (020 7235 39 79 / www.rachelcouture.com) to purchase your DREAM, check out her stunning range of evening dresses and daywear = defo to dream about, excuse the pun! In fact I got my 2 fave evening frox ever from RACHEL - beautifully cut classics which make me feel amazing. Check out the collection soon.
The Face of DREAM is the beauteous LIZ FULLER, a former HG Cover Girl who, like RACHEL fellow designer CHARLES SVINGHOLM and moi, is p.r.d by the lovely CHARLOTTE ELLIS (www.charlotteellispr.com)
Best congrats to LIZ, CEO of MISS GREAT BRITAIN, for relaunching the iconic beauty pageant last year.
The BEST PRODUCTS I have found for you this month, dear readers, are:
LANCOME'S GENEFIQUE Youth Activating Concentrate:
LANCOME's products are always superior and reliable. This, their latest product, has been researched for 10 years and the blurb promises 'the proteins characteristic of young skin increase on the surface of the skin'.
My trialler GLORIA , 50, says " I don't know how it works but it does! After just a month my skin seems tighter and the thin skin under my eyes appears thicker. Wonderful!"
www.lancome.com
Celeb fans of LANCOME are said to include the stunning, milky skinned AMANDA HOLDEN and here she is, 'au naturel', beauty fans:
 AMANDA HOLDEN.
CONDOLENCES: after the filing of this copy all at Hot Gossip were deeply saddened to learn of the tragic loss of AMANDA's baby boy during the seventh month of her pregnancy.
Heartfelt condolences and prayers to brave AMANDA and her husband CHRIS HUGHES.
CHEST-A-PEEL is an ingenious new product which you put on your decollete at night to get rid of wrinkles.
(Apparently women who sleep on their sides are particularly prone to chest wrinkles so it might be worth retraining yourself to sleep on your back if you can.)
My trialler ANGIE , 56, says "this is a really good product, easy to put on, very light and you can use it over and over again. And my decollete really does look fresher and much less wrinkly after using it for a few nights. I will actually be able to wear low cut dresses again now which is marvellous."

There is nothing quite as glam as false lashes for those hot dates and big evenings out and the ones with crystals are particularly fun. The best 'decorated' lashes I have found are by MALIKA - light, easy to apply, with glue and remover in the pack, and great SWAROVSKI type sparkles. My fave MALIKA style is the CINDY = big, sweeping, sparkly statement lashes. Check em out at:
www.malika.co.uk
and order a few different styles to take you from day/natural to night/sophisticated. Great fun - and if you are a beginner with lashes, get the EXPRESS MAKEUP book mentioned above and use the 'lash applicator' they recommend of twezors.
One beautiful fluttery lashed gal who allegedly favours the MALIKA range is the vivacious KATY PERRY.
KATY PERRY. cr: GETTY IMAGES.
And if your eyes feel sore after all that lash fluttering, try natural, non-toxic EYE SLICES to relax, revitalise and cool them down in just 5 minutes. The gel slices look just like cucumber slices and are really refreshing. Carry them in your handbag to pop on when your eyes feel gritty after too much computer watching!

LUSH's new GORILLA PERFUME, LUST in a neat pencil size, suitable for hand and make-up bags is a real humdinger of a fragrance. The aptly named, vibrant and sexy scent suits teens to cougars and is the most long lasting I have come across for years.
www.lush.co.uk
Finally check out TESCO's amazing new cheap n cheerful PRO FLEX hair product range - my guinea pigs and I particularly liked the Firm Hold Hairspray which will keep even the biggest hair smooth in a Force 9 gale, the Volume Boosting Styling Mousse which does just that and the Gel Spray and Sculpting Putty which are great for spikey styles for girls and boys.

More CONGRATULATIONS to:
Dynamic author and mountaineer NEVILLE SHULMAN for climbing Mount Golden Rock (3750 m) in the Great Caucasus recently.
I will certainly be consulting NEVILLE when I attempt my somewhat more relaxed trek up Mount Kilimanjaro (3000 m, I believe = help, nosebleed zone!!) in aid of the TODAY AND TOMORROW and HOPE HOUSE charities in August!
Evergreen film star ZSA ZSA GABOR for surviving a leg amputation op at 92 (allegedly!)
I first met the amazing ZSA ZSA and her charming hubby PRINCEY (a real one actually!) in Palm Beach in the 80s and was quite bowled over by the glam couple. We wish her a speedy recovery.
GONE WITH THE WIND, the most famous novel of all time, on its 75th birthday.
My pic shows ANN RUTHERFORD, 90 and my old mate PATRICK CURTIS, 72 who starred in the film version of GWTW 72 years ago (yes, you guessed it, PATRICK played BABY BEAU!)
PC and ANN RUTHERFORD 75th Anniversary. cr: GWTW.
TATIANA VON SAXE, the producer of WHEN THE LILAC BLOOMS, MY LOVE for her latest hit play. TERENCE RATTIGAN's LESS THAN KIND starring SARA CROWE and a stellar cast. The show enjoyed a well deserved sell out run at THE JERMYN STREET THEATRE and attracted a glitzy audience - the night I went we ran into the delightful SIR TIM RICE!
Stylist LUPE CASTRO and p.r. NYLA on the success of their latest BIG SWISH at JEWEL in Piccadilly - it was a really fun event with fitness boys teaching us laydeez exercises and a raffle as well as lots of great clothes to swap. And all in aid of CANCER RESEARCH.
Go to

to find out the date and venue of the next Swish in your area.
JADE and I are thrilled with our newly Swished outfits.
