LOST AND FOUND

THE UNBELIEVABLE HUNT FOR THE LAST KING OF FRANCE

The name Balthazar Napoleon De Bourbon sounds French enough. And if you were told the gentleman bearing the name was next in line for the French throne it night sound reasonable. But staring at the jovial and portly Indian lawyer/farmer from Bhopal, you would see why people are skeptical.

While Balthazar always knew he was of French origin- his last name and Catholic faith are an easy giveaway- he had no idea of his royal heritage until Prince Michael of Greece knocked on his front door. In doing some family research Prince Michael who also hails from the Bourbon clan discovered that a swashbuckling nephew of Henry IV named Jean de Bourbon had worked his way to India. Jean had fled France after killing a nobleman in a duel. But on his journey, he was kidnapped by pirates, sold as a slave and served in an Ethiopian army before eventually making his way to Goa. From there, he met the Mughal king Akbar and served in his royal court. Over generations de Bourbon's descendants assimilated into the culture.

Since the guillotine stopped Luis XVI's direct line Balthazar is his closest living relation. Today this Indian crowned prince laughs about his distinctly middle class life style and calls it "Bourbon on the Rocks."

YOUNG, HOT AND SINGLE EUROPEAN ROYALS

Here are a few eligible princes and princesses to possibly fantasize about:

Prince Albert von Thurn und Taxis
Germany, 29

Beyond his Royal titles Albert is also one of the world's youngest billionaires- a fortune that supposedly dates back to his family's role as postmaster generals of the Holy Roma n Empire.

Prince Pierre Casiraghi
Monaco, 25

Third in Monaco's line of succession he's the grandson of Grace Kelly.

Princess Madeleine
Sweden, 30

A fan of horseback riding Madeleine has competed in show jumping under a false name to foil the paparazzi. These days she's in New York City, working in the open for the World Childhood Foundation.

Prince Amedeo
Belgium, 26

Although he is called Prince Imperial of Austria this single royal has a desk job in New York City where he consults for Deloitte.

THE WOMAN YOU CALL KING

Nearly five years ago Peggielene Bartels was awaked by a 4 am phone call. The person on the other end informed her that she had just been named King of Otuam, a village of 7,000 on Ghana's coast.

The call wasn't as random as it sounds. "King Peggy" hails from a royal line that has ruled Otuam village for more than 200 years. Her uncle held the post last; before he died he named Bartels his preferred successor. His niece after all was well-educated, younger than 60 and possessed good character- all integral to the post.

Obviously there will be press ad nauseam re The Baby until and long after it is born: I promise not to add much to the hype! However I have had numerous radio stations notify me and/or confirm that I predicted that Kate would become pregnant toward the end of 2012. (For Example Rick Rumble of Virginia and TJ Brown of KJ103 in Oklahoma City... Others can be furnished upon request)

I love spas. I am relatively discerning about them both because I have been going to spas since I was in my early 20s, and I also did design work on several of them back when I was doing interior design ...

Spas are meant to be more important to us than they have been in recent years - mostly due to the recession and one's feeling the need to retract and not spend money on anything not absolutely necessary.

For eons people have traveled even very long distances to recuperate from illnesses at spas. The city of Bath was given its name by the Romans who felt it to be an important place to travel to, based on what they believed to be healing waters there. Over two thousand years later people still go there: for the same reason! This is also true of important healing centres all over Europe such as Deauville, Marienbad, Baden-Baden and Terme di Saturnia (to mention a very few).

Spas have been so important throughout history that emperors, kings, members of nobility and heads of state traveled to them - and still do.

'Modern' spas are multiplying because there is a greater need for them than ever before. There is even a term that has become common place: spa living.

Each of the spas I review is dramatically different from each other. In this issue I am reviewing the Agua Spa in the Sanderson Hotel. (www.sandersonlondon.com)

50 Berners Street
London England W1T 3NG
Tel. +44 (0) 20 7300 1414

I booked the spa treatment as an afternoon appointment in the middle of a hectic day; I was actively on my mobile when I arrived at the spa.

I was not remotely thinking about what the spa would look like - I was just intent on being on time. The moment I walked through the spa doors and was greeted by the Spa Manager my entire demeanor changed. There is something absolutely ethereal and very calming about this place. Miles of extremely tall, white flowy draperies fill the entire spa - from the minute you enter you are immediately absorbed into what I can only state is a total other-worldy ambiance. I have never encountered an environment such as this. Everything is pure white: the floors, the curtained walls, the furniture ... white, soft, plush, dreamy and cloud-like. Surreal. So much so that visitors are assigned an attendant to guide them though the maze to the changing room and then to the treatment room.

I had booked a Natura Bisse (a 30-something year company from Barcelona) facial. I was not familiar with the product but decided intuitively to try it partly based on the fact that it is recommended for people who travel a lot; the product supplies pure oxygen molecules to the epidermal layer of skin.

I am very intuitive about skin care products as I worked on a high-end line, from the idea inception to seeing it on exclusive store shelves all over world.

The moment the facialist began cleansing my skin for the Oxygen Awakening Facial I began to feel the energy of the product as well as many of the individual ingredients. I definitely saw significant transformation of my skin after the multi-layered treatment.

This transformation lasted almost two weeks: I heartily recommend it for holiday/stressed or dehydrated (from overactive heaters) skin.

When I left the spa I felt rejuvenated and energized; I had significantly more energy throughout the rest of the day.

I have several interesting fashion events to report on. However! As is often the case Sally's events are far more interesting than mine... So I have decided to post Sally's recent Gala event at the Millennium Knightsbridge (versus mine!):

"The Rachel Couture Fashion Show showing Rachel Elbaz' latest collection at the glitzy Millennium Knightsbridge Hotel was a blast. Guests included Princess Katrina of Yugoslavia, Mayor of Hammersmith and Fulham, Frances Stainton and Prince Mohsin Ali Khan. The event was covered by the talented Edward Lloyd and his charming assistant Diana from OK!

This collection of current day and evening wear was quite simply RACHEL's best ever with flattering cuts and vibrant colors to suit ladies of all ages and sizes. Here are some pix - my personal fave is of course the hot pink!

FAVE COAT:

Kelly Ewing's fun frilly Little Black Coat, seen here on TOWIE's gorg LUCY who has accessorised with a super large bag and sexy bloke!

TOTE BAG:

The fabulous Lulu Guinness has donated a beautiful tote bag to the Friends of The Royal Marsden. The bags are only £15, you can get lots in them including laptops and the whole price goes to the Friends' excellent cause. Lovely Friends volunteer Jacquie Gulbenkian kindly came round to the Marsden Medical Day Unit to hand deliver mine and here it is."

This edition of HotGossip is unique: It spans the end of the old paradigm and the beginning of the new one.
Even though great numbers of people are anywhere from skeptical to ridiculing to not caring about the power of the date 21/12/12 this is a powerful turning point for us on earth. Even beyond the aligning of the planets (etc etc) the sheer numbers of people around the globe (in the hundreds of millions)-and in every country of the world- who gather in groups to meditate, chant, affirm, visualize, dance and much more to create a more peaceful, harmonious way of living are creating shifts of many types on the earth. (...group energy, or synergy, DOES count!)

2013 will be action-packed for many in its early weeks. January is a good time to AVOID to a large degree all those sales; it is a very good time to take stock of where you are in your life, where you are stuck, and what is out there that you'd still like to achieve, or create: career opportunity, new home, travel, writing or singing courses, exercise type ( kickboxing, tai chi, barre work, dance, pilates, etc... the more unique the better for this coming year: dramatic earth changes are encouragements from Higher levels to make dramatic changes in the beginning stages of the earth changes... ie, there is a great deal of support for trying new things—and being able to succeed at them easily and even effortlessly). We are being shaken up internally—to follow that up with major external changes places us in the top third of the population: the leaders, those comfortable in the middle—and those who resist making any changes.

2013 is meant to be a more lighthearted year; there will be many surprises in it, also. The work we each do just before and after 21/12 (through the month of January) will have an impact on the way the next years go. Literally!

At the end of each year I offer a special of some sort, good though the month of January.

As THIS particular year is so very different, I am offering a greater discount: people need much clarity on what they will be going through and how to deal with new changes definitely coming...

So, I am offering a 45% discount on all my sessions; however, this must be mentioned when first contacting me to discuss possibly having a session with me... you can email me from my website, or at [email protected].
