Thank you for all your letters about hair colour, dear readers, particularly the horror stories! Our hair is our crowning glory and we particularly need to look after the colour in the summer when sun and swimming pools can do funny things to it so it's all-important to go to a respected colourist. The best colourist I have found in London's West End is REDKEN Platform Artist and leading authority on colour in the UK, JASON WELCH who recently opened a fab new salon called ELEVEN at 11, Blenheim Street, W.1., just off Bond Street (020 7491 2390) with partners BEN WHITE, CHRISTIAN TOTH and SEBASTIAN STETKIEWICZ. I recently tried JASON's GISELE BUNDCHEN-style 'beach highlights' which are perfect for summer as they give a soft, flattering, sun kissed blonde look which doesn't go 'blocky', grows out naturally and blends in with any natural sun kissing you may be lucky enough to get (not much in this country!) The whole ELEVEN experience was divine as my locks were treated by all sorts of charming guys – PETER dealt with my extensions, JASON himself 'sun kissed' me, DAVID trimmed me, BEN blow dried me and NINO put me up, so to speak. The results were stunning and I could happily have spent all day in the beautiful and comfortable salon. All the boys are great and JASON is hilarious – I predict he will soon be the next 'celebrity hairdresser', although he shies away from that title. Sadly the boys didn't have a pic of their lovely selves but have promised me one for the next issue - watch this space.

BTW if you want to spot any of the DRAGONS at play, I met DUNCAN BANNANTYNE at MINT in Jermyn Street, W.1. and PETER JONES is allegedly a regular at THE BEAUCHAMP BAR AND RESTAURANT, 44 Beauchamp Place, Knightsbridge (020 7581 8886) where trendy French artist MICHEL MERCY (07956 193 718) is currently exhibiting his latest paintings for the month of June (I've bought 2 for my house - they are beautiful and very reasonable.)

Talking of beautiful songstresses I recently met VALERIYA, the Russian MADONNA at a BEEGEES memorial lunch organised by THE HERITAGE FOUNDATION at THE GROSVENOR HOUSE. The young and beautiful VALERIYA joined the iconic ROBIN GIBB on stage for a rousing rendition of STAYING ALIVE - the pair have recorded the super-hit as a duet - watch this space. ROBIN wowed a select audience of celebs and VIPS with his BEEGEES hits and the duet with VALERIYA was the cherry on the top. Here they are strutting their stuff at the lunch that followed the unveiling of a plaque to THE BEEGEES in nearby Brook Street, the band's old home.

VALERIYA recently confessed that she loved real English gents, especially TERRY WOGAN and that she was dying to meet him. National treasure TEL was recently lambasted by a EUROVISION organiser for not taking the Song Contest seriously (you couldn't make it up! Didn't he realise we only watch it for WOGAN and his hilarious asides?) so a meeting with VALERIYA would no doubt cheer him (WOGAN) up no end. Again - watch this space.

Talking of more, er, 'mature' guys, it's Father's Day this month so what have you bought for your dear old dad? (Or your hubby, if the kids are too young to hit the shops themselves.) Here are some ideas:

My CELEBRITY BOOK OF THE MONTH for June is THE SECRET LIFE OF SIEGFRIED AND ROY: How The Tiger Kings Tamed Las Vegas (Phoenix Books / price tba.) The book is by SIEGFRIED and ROY's inner circle LOUIS MYDLACH, JIM MYDLACH and JIMMY LAVERY (so it's definitely the real deal!) as told to HENRIETTA TIEFENTHALER, the bright young author who wrote TRAIN WRECK, the story of tragic ANNA-NICOLE SMITH. It's a fascinating tale of the whole Las Vegas showbiz scene up to and after ROY's near fatal mauling by their white tiger, MONTECORE. Riveting.
My favourite CELEBRITY RESTAURANT this month is MIRAGGIO, 510 Fulham Road, SW6 (020 7384 9774), conveniently close to my own office and studio. I had heard a lot about MIRAGGIO from members of THE HURLINGHAM CLUB and visited the cute and cosy restaurant with a couple of discerning gourmet friends - we weren't disappointed. Delightful waiter DOMINICO introduced us to the equally delightful - and supremely talented, we were to find out - chef TOMMASO who suggested the menu. Then we happily munched our way through a mouth watering array of antipasti, including prawns and smoked salmon with cream cheese vol au vents, chicken involtini with ham and artichoke (the best we'd ever tasted), marinated salmon and parma ham with buffalo mozarella. This was all washed down most agreeably with a delicious Vermintino wine from Sardinia. Next we moved on to gnocchi with cherry tomatoes, Italian sausage and pecorino cheese, accompanied by a nice full bodied red wine from Campania, suggested by TOMMASO. The last savoury course was another 'best ever' dish, a seafood risotto and we finished off with melt in the mouth home made chocolate mousse, tiramisu and raspberry pannacotta, followed by excellent Italian coffee. We were all most impressed with the MIRAGGIO food, wine and service and will be returning next week - see you there! MIRAGGIO is opening an Italian Tapas Bar in their downstairs level this month and I am sure that that too will prove very popular, especially at lunch times when tapas makes a quick and easy option.
Fans of MIRAGGIO allegedly include the hilarious DAVID GEST and here he is, snapped with iconic HITCHCOCK star (not to mention mother of MELANIE GRIFFITHS and mother in law of ANTONIO BANDERAS!) TIPPI HEDREN.
