Potential Unlimited

Hi peeps! This month has been busy to say the least. I first have to say that I am shocked and saddened by the sudden death of US actress BRITTANY MURPHY. The Los Angeles City Fire Department told TMZ that they received a call to a home listed as belonging to Murphy's husband, Simon Monjack. Sources say the 32-year-old actress' mother discovered her unconscious in the shower. The website says that when paramedics arrived, they quickly determined Murphy was in full cardiac arrest and immediately administered CPR. They continued CPR en route to Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre. Murphy was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. LA County Coroner's Office is expected to launch an investigation. She was rumoured to suffer from heart murmurs. She starred in many films including 8 Mile and Clueless. Murphy worked in films opposite Michael Douglas, Ashton Kutcher, Eminem and Angelina Jolie, but failed to attain their level of success. In recent years, she worked mostly in low-budget movies, while her emaciated appearance sparked concerns about her health. Rest in peace.

There has also been a plethora of events starting with the glitzy premiere of NINE. Starring KATE HUDSON, PENELOPE CRUZ,  Director ROB MARSHALL, JUDY DENCH, DANIEL DAY-LEWIS and NICOLE KIDMAN. We were lucky to have most of the cast appear in London at the world premiere of said film.

Kate Hudson

Daniel Day Lewis

The musical, inspired by Federico Fellini's classic film 8 1/2, also stars, Sophia Loren, Marion Cotillard and singer Fergie. KIDMAN and CRUZ, both former lovers of Hollywood actor TOM CRUISE, also appear in the film - together - and seemingly share a common bond. Yes, being stuffed good by the great man. Both as you know have since moved on from the high-profile actor - KIDMAN marrying Australian -ex junkie- country singer KEITH URBAN and CRUZ reportedly engaged to Spanish actor JAVIER BARDEM! I think they got it on during the filming of Vicky Christina Barcelona....

Penelope Cruz

Nicole Kidman

This event was the dream team of premieres, adapted from the Broadway stage and full of songs sadly. The ladies -finally got the gist- and DID NOT wear black dresses! It made a great photo opportunity. KATE HUDSON I think just pipped the buxom PENELOPE CRUZ to the frock title of the night. Penelope did very well on a flowing blue number, whilst la KIDMAN dressed smartly but hardly glamourous. Dame JUDY DENCH was deservedly brave with a canary yellow outfit which needless to say stood out from the crowd well! The gals posed on the freezing cold for us long enough to take a good set of pics. The film itself has had a luke warm response so far so we'll see what happens at the box office.

The most expensive film ever made so far is AVATAR directed by JAMES CAMERON. In the future, Jake, a paraplegic war veteran, is brought to another planet, Pandora, which is inhabited by the Na'vi, a humanoid race with their own language and culture.

James Cameron and wife.

Those from Earth find themselves at odds with each other and the local culture. When his brother is killed in battle, paraplegic Marine Jake Sully decides to take his place in a mission on the distant world of Pandora. There he learns of greedy corporate figurehead Parker Selfridge's intentions of driving off the native humanoid "Na'vi" in order to mine for the precious material scattered throughout their rich woodland. In exchange for the spinal surgery that will fix his legs, Jake gathers intel for the cooperating military unit spearheaded by gung-ho Colonel Quaritch, while simultaneously attempting to infiltrate the Na'vi people with the use of an "avatar" identity.

Sigourney Weaver.

Michelle Rodriguez

While Jake begins to bond with the native tribe and quickly falls in love with the beautiful alien Neytiri, the restless Colonel moves forward with his ruthless extermination tactics, forcing the soldier to take a stand - and fight back in an epic battle for the fate of Pandora. This 3D film delivers in the graphics and effects department. It's not hard to understand why it took almost five years to make. You will not be disappointed.

Zoe Zaldana

The premiere at the ODEON Leicester Square, had the cast including SIGOURNEY WEAVER and MICHELLE RODRIGUEZ turn out in force though disappointingly the ladies wore the dreaded black outfits. This rendered the picture sales almost null and void! The flick I give four out of five.

The remake of SHERLOCK HOLMES for the silver screen has arrived. The plot goes like this: After finally catching serial killer and occult "sorcerer" Lord Blackwood, legendary sleuth Sherlock Holmes and his assistant Dr. Watson can close yet another successful case.

Rachel McAdams

Robert Downey Jr

Heather Graham

But when Blackwood mysteriously returns from the grave and resumes his killing spree, Holmes must take up the hunt once again. Contending with his partner's new fiancée and the dim-witted head of Scotland Yard, the dauntless detective must unravel the clues that will lead him into a twisted web of murder, deceit, and black magic - and the deadly embrace of temptress Irene Adler. The film directed by GUY RITCHIE made its world premiere at the Empire Leicester Square, in London. Celebs were in abuncance-ish for the red carpet arrivals which lasted about an hour! Jeez, In the end, RACHEL McADAMS, GUY RITCHIE, ROBERT DOWNEY JR, HEATHER GRAHAM, GWEN STEFANI with hubby GAVIN ROSDALE and JUDE LAW amongst others turned out for photographs. The crowds and the media braved the cold to cover this great London themed premiere. JUDE LAW seemed chirpy enough for a change, perhaps to do with seeing SIENNA MILLER again. The couple are reportedly moving in with each other again! Lets hope the new nanny is as ugly as Shane Macgowan's smile. That'll keep Mr LAW honest!

Jude Law

Gwen Stefani

Guy Ritchie

STELLA McCARTNEY had the Christmas lights at her store switched on by the MIGHTY BOOSH. The comedy group led by JULIAN BARRATT and NOEL FIELDING even danced and played a medley of songs outside the store dressed as old women. When the hags first appeared I thought it was STELLA McCARTNEY leading the way at first, but on closer inspection it was NOEL FIELDING with heavy make up. It was quite hilarious! Uncanny resemblance.

Mighty Boosh

Stella McCartney

Lastly dear readers a quick mention of the Fashion Awards. Held at the Royal Courts of Justice in London. This event didn't even deter KATE MOSS. They must've been handing it out for free! Maybe it was snowing inside? -Up her nose?- All the great and the good turned up for this fashion 'Oscars'. VICTORIA BECKHAM, CLAUDIA SCHIFFER, JASPER CONRAN and ERIN O'CONNOR, were amongst the guests.

Victoria Beckham

Claudia Schiffer

Well folks have a MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! Drink sensibly like me. -Ha ha- Try to not over do it!

Over and out, see ya next month.
