Letter from the Editor

Well, we have a great deal to be happy about at the moment. WE WON THE WORLD CUP, DIDN’T WE? Well done to the English Rugby team – we’re all very proud of you. And what about DAVID BECKHAM picking up an OBE, now he and POSH really can flaunt Beckingham Palace.

As is usual at this time of the year we at Hot Gossip do a double issue - December through to January, so that we don’t have to rush out our copy in the middle of the festive season, but we have lots of fabulous news and gossip to keep you busy during this time, and all of us wish you a very happy festive season and hope that all your dreams come true for the New Year.

AB FAB SALON

I would like to tell you about a great hair and beauty salon I’ve discovered in the heart of Chelsea, in fact it’s right in the centre of fashionable Kings Road. CHRISTIAN TAYLOR do the best head massage I’ve ever had, and my new haircut (By CHRISTIAN) and colour (lowlights and highlights by CARLIE) is causing a sensation. I’m told I look years younger, and that works for me! And my elegant manicure (extension nails actually by VY, look super too) For celebrity spotting and famous footballers this is the place to go (and I’m not looking for either). Recently however, they were too busy to do PIERCE BROSAN’S barnet, can you imagine! Now, I AM sorry I missed him. So be sure to book first, although having said that the delectable MR BOND did appear in the doorway on a Saturday. That’s always a hectic day! If you mention HOT GOSSIP you can get an amazing 20% discount and you will come out looking a million dollars. So book now.

CHRISTIAN TAYLOR, 182 Kings Road,Chelsea, SW3. Telephone 020 7351 9595. Highly recommended.

IT’s ALL HAPPENING

Stand back oldie IT GIRLS, the youngsters are moving in! The new generation IT GIRLS, including daughters of the rich and famous are lucky to have the opportunity of being taught how to look after themselves by our very own security expert (see crime page) JACQUIELINE DAVIS, who early next year will be offering herSTAY SAFE course and will personally coach them. The course will offer positive advice on how to be aware of dangers etc. One of our previous cover girls, JADE FARMILOE-NEVILLE (daughter of our SALLY) is amongst the lucky girls.

A RIGHT BASHING TIME

Just a few weeks ago I took JACQUIELINE’s STAY SAFE course and lucky for me I did because I found myself being pushed around by an ex army man, and thankfully I managed to protect myself from falling. The incident happened when I attended a social function for COUNTESS VALENTINA ARTSRUNIK’S publishing company ARTNICK. Most people thought the highlight of the evening was the flamboyantly dressed NEIL HAMILTON and his sweet wife CHRISTINE, or the equally flamboyantly dressed LORD BATH busy signing copies of his books (I’m still reading these and have to say they are really very good). But one great highlight had to be the roast pig -a whole pig in all it’s glory (a vegetarian’s nightmare) being carved up by hungry guests - well it certainly makes a change from canapés, and I expect other socialites will copy this unique idea. Anyway, that was an interesting conversation piece until all hell broke loose …but you can read all about it in REGINA’S social column. J

TO DIE FOR FROCKS

VALENTINA invited me to a reception at her friend SYBIL STANISLAUS’ Italian couture dress salon, which specialises in silk chiffon delights – some in my favourite fabric – animal print. These frocks are every woman’s dream machine and a must have for the party season. You might be lucky to catch the sale which begins at the new salon on 1st December. SYBIL STANISLAUS, 11 Grosvenor Place, Belgravia, SW1. Telephone 020 7235 1572 e-mail: [email protected]

ARTY PARTY

GOODLIFE, London’s only Lifestyle magazine, edited by social icon EILEEN SPENCE-MONCRIEFF gave a nice reception for the artist MICHEL MERCI at DAVID HUMPHREY'S in Shepherd’s Market, Mayfair. Interesting art, very contemporary and not expensive, based on a music theme incorporating sheet music as a background. Marvellous gift for music lovers. Anyway, it was good to catch up with the glamorous CINDY JACKSON who made the front cover of GOODLIFE this month, and has been our cover girl a couple of times. Check out her website www.cindyjackson.com I also bumped into the dashing MARK JOHNSON who I haven’t seen in years. Hadn’t changed a bit!

BRITAIN’S ROSWELL

Since my book entitled YOU CAN’T TELL THE PEOPLE was published in 2000, and again in 2001, I’ve assisted producers with numerous TV documentaries to promote the Rendlesham Forest Mystery, better known now as Britain’s Roswell. The latest, and probably the best is a two-hour masterpiece which airs on 12 December on the Sci-Fi Channel. Unfortunately, for the time being at least it will only air in the USA, but we will see it in the UK sometime next year. This true story involves genuine United States Air Force witnesses who were caught up in this extraordinary UFO incident. YOU CAN’T TELL THE PEOPLE byGEORGINA BRUNI, published by PAN MACMILLAN available in good bookshops in the UK or from www.amazon.co.uk

Well now I’m going to get ready for the real party season, so I shall need that well earned break. Thanks again to all our wonderful EDITORS, and to our publisher JAMES KNIGHT and our web designer GRAHAM MORRIS for all their hard work on getting HOT GOSSIP onto your screens. And thanks to all of YOU, our precious readers.

When we come back in February 2004 we celebrate an amazing eight years. HOT GOSSIP is proud to be known as the first British e-zine to launch on the web.

Best wishes for the season and a very happy New Year for 2004. We wish for peace and happiness for all human kind.
