Potential Unlimited

The latest animated hit this summer without a doubt is Wall-E. Wall-E is the latest computer animated science fiction film produced by Pixar Animation Studios. Directed by Andrew Stanton, -Finding Nemo fame- it follows the story of a robot named Wall-E who is designed to clean up and stack up -compressed junk on polluted Earth. -It'll do well in Hackney dear readers-. He then falls in love with another robot called Eve, and follows her into outer space on an adventure. At the London premiere we had a fully functioning Wall-E robot who was whizzing up and down the blue carpet. It has to be said that the robot was the most popular thing at the premiere, apart from pint sized 'Britain's Got Talent' winner George Sampson. The robot and George Sampson eclipsed the cast and guests at the premiere in the scream-o-meter of the fans. SIGOURNEY WEAVER looked perplexed at the attention of some of the fans not realising they were in shock at seeing her dug up from cinematic oblivion for her voice-over role in the film. PETER GABRIEL made an entrance at the premiere with wearing quasi-hippy outfit and posed for photos with Sigourney.

Meanwhile back in the the art world SACHA NEWLEY had an art exhibition with the CATTO gallery and I was attracted by the free Champagne. Upon arriving I was aghast to discover no such thing -free Champagne- and left within minutes of arriving. On the way out I managed to shoot punk hero PAUL SIMONON of The Clash fame and JOAN COLLINS who seemed very happy and kept telling me who the designer of her dress was.
Never heard of him or her. Sacha's work consisted mainly of paintings of himself, strange, as he's hardly an oil painting. The whole of his works was extremely disappointing -and overpriced- coupled with the unavailability of Champagne and well, what a disaster of an evening it turned out to be. I'll send him an invoice for my time.

The Batman Premiere kicked off in style with the new Bat-mobile making a grand entrance on the red carpet with flames et al spewing out of it and duly ripping up the red carpet with its wheel spinning. Great car. The rest of the premiere was a let down as there were no BIG names apart from MICHAEL CAINE and KELLY OSBOURNE. HEATH LEDGER was nowhere to be seen as he killed himself with an overdose of drugs including cocaine. Whether it was an accident (!?) or not he STILL did it. Its like me sticking a knife in my chest for a 'joke' and ending up dead. I still DID it. Don't tell me that gulping three or four different types of drug in one sitting is accidental. Sad loss though.

This morning I was up at 9am! I nearly died. I went to shoot LEON JACKSON in the studio -guy who won the X FACTOR- and now this evening I'm in a boiling hot studio again for another shoot commissioned by the News Of The World Sunday paper. I'm writing you this hallowed column in between costume changes dear readers. You don't know the sacrifices I do for you. The Champagne ran out for God's sake. We had to send a runner for more.
I'll tell you next month who it was. Can't say at the moment as pics are not out yet. Watch this space.

One of the biggest events of the summer was the Cartier Polo. This is the world cup of polo. The final was between England and Australia. Luckily, the best team won.

England lifted the cup. PRINCE CHARLES was present to hand out the trophy and medals. What you really want to know is who attended. Celebs included: EMMA WATSON, DITTA VON TEASE, ROSAMUND PYKE, MARIE HELVIN, KELLY BROOK, TAMSIN EGGERTON, STEPHANIE POWERS, RICHARD -The Hamster- HAMMOND,

Richard Hammond

Natalie Imbruglia

Therese Fischer

Stephanie Powers

violinist VANESSA MAE, model CAPRICE, my model friend THERESE FISCHER and of course, yours truly. Some of the people who were NOT let in included best selling -quasi- author and successful glamour model KATIE PRICE AKA JORDAN. When her agent called for tickets they said no. They then tried the China White after party at the polo grounds and they were also turned down. Maybe next year. Best bit was the after-party at the China White tent, where we had a table and free Champagne all evening thanks to my great friends Charles and Sabrina. I still don't know who paid for it all but thanks. We also had 'fire' entertainers, giant coloured balloons with female models dangling high up in the air with skin tight white outfits spinning and twirling. Fireworks also followed. The party was brilliant as always with good music and plenty of fun shenanigans that I can't possibly mention here.

The film CASS opened at the Empire Leicester Square, London. The flick tells the story of an orphaned Jamaican boy who was brought up by an elderly white couple -not allowed anymore- and grew up to be a football thug. Maybe that's why its not allowed anymore. Cass then had three bullets put in him at close range, -karma?- and then it was decision time; whether to take revenge or quit the life of crime. All I can say is that it was great to see my actor friend TAMER HASSAN -also in the film- with his wife and son. Cast members NATALIE PRESS, LEO GREGORY, NONSO ANOZIE and GAVIN BROCKER were also in attendance.

SACHA BARON COHEN has been spotted many times going in the Sherlock Holmes museum in London. Perhaps he's researching for his new comedy film role as....Sherlock Holmes.

BARACK OBAMA was on a whirlwind tour of the world recently. No one knows why. He ended up in London and was greeted like a pop star. All because he's black. Well, mixed race. He's not really black as the US media will have you believe as he has a white mother. I don't get what the big deal was or is. The guy has NOT been elected as yet. I will be surprised if he gets elected despite the hype. I can't see that America is ready for a black -looking- Muslim with everything that's happened and continues to happen.

The BRITISH MOTORSHOW kicked off and although there were many launches of new models and great looking cars it was a bit boring. Yes, the five plus free lunches with Champagne I had on press day were great -Thanks Nissan/Jaguar/Opel-Vauxhall/Ford/SAAB- but there were no stars present to glam up the place. DANIELLE LLOYD turned up briefly for a photocall but her breakfast turned up as well all over her clothes. She darted off home quite rightly. Best car for me by far was the new Alfa Romeo 8 Competizione. Fantastic. Not just because I'm an Alfa man. You'll know what I mean when you see it. Rotten tomatoes go to Citroen who on Press day were very stingy with their poxy food and drinks. They had the area cordoned off, with surly 'madams' with clipboards. No one cared to discuss technical specifications of their concept cars. Don't think anyone knew. You know the type. Clearly all on a very tight budget. Keep your cars. I didn't photograph or review ANY of their cars. The other manufacturers had pictures of their -best- cars syndicated worldwide with appropriate reviews.

After the last X-Files TV series died six years ago, DAVID DUCHOVNY never stop believing in bringing back the X-Files format to the silver screen. Well, his wishes were granted. 'X-Files I Want To Believe' opened in London. CHRIS CARTER is still in charge and GILLIAN ANDERSON still his sidekick. At the premiere in Leicester Square, you would've thought that DAVID DUCHOVNY would be pleased. Oh no. He was the most MISERABLE human being on earth! He just wanted to be somewhere else and we -press photographers- wanted him to be. Outer space would've been great. The guy didn't smile once! He seemed in a bad mood. Even the pregnant GILLIAN ANDERSON was all smiles. Maybe the fact that on the opening weekend in the US the flick only raked in $4 million had something to do with it. Expect it on DVD
-bargain bucket section- next week.

Gillian Anderson

Next month dear readers, expect a full 'report' on the Venice and Toronto film festivals.

Over and out, see ya next month.
